When homicide detective Dexter J. Daley’s testimony helps send his partner away for murder, the consequences—and the media frenzy—aren’t far behind. Totally hooked!!
I absolutely loved this. I’ve never really been into audiobooks but oh my god I’m hooked now. I already loved this series, but hearing it was just incredible. It’s lovely too get totally lost in a book and not waste time (I’m a huge time waster, I’d always rather read than get anything done). And hearing all of the voices of Destructive Delta was awesome!

Fascinating and gripping
I'm picky with my shifter books but I couldn't ignore the constant recommendations this series gets. When this first book came up as a freebie, I decided to take the plunge.
Now I'm a convert and a fully fledged THIRDS Nerd!
It's interesting reading this now in the time of COVID19 (seeing as the premise is that a vaccine for a virus caused a genetic mutation to create the Therians) and it might be making it slightly more edgy.
This story is fascinating and gripping and gives us some simply brilliantly written characters. It's a fabulous start to a dynamic series!

So good! Why did I wait so long!!!
This story has the perfect amount of sass, humor, comic relief, thrills, intrigue, and angst; I just couldn’t put it down! While I did guess “the how” for the murders straight away, “the who” took longer and I enjoyed the ride. I liked the whole world created and the unique take on “shifters”.
I loved Dex! He is fantastic! If there was ever a book character I’d want to meet he’d be it. While he’s always good for a laugh, there is so much more to him than I expected. I loved getting to know Destructive Delta and all the characters.
These angst between Sloane and Dex is undeniable and so, so not once they give in! I really liked the case progression and how we slowly unwrapped Sloane as the book went on but Charlie never reveals all. She likes to keep us guessing and on edge. While the main “case” of this book is “solved” there is a twist that leads into book 2, but it’s not a cliffhanger just a lead in thankfully. I’m loving these characters and am now hooked on Dex and Sloane and what’s up next for these two and their team!

fantastic
I'm new to this author having only read her collaboration with Macy Blake Notorious. So I decided to read more and so glad I did! this book is great, love the snark and 80s pop references, interesting storyline and given covid perhaps more topical than when written love love love it. Mystery, hot men, snark, sex, what more can you ask for excellent.

Popcorn
Listened to books one and two. Gave up in book three.
The story is highly repetitive and in parts very hard to swallow. Even accepting the fantasy premise it's a bridge too far for all the secret forbidden relationships and sexual harassment within a strict and close-knit military agency to be believable.
There's also simple flaws in the writing such as the teams and the units within the teams both using Greek letters for names, which is just confusing.
Overall the narration is good, though performers who whisper-yell instead of yell grate on me.
