Contrary to Government denial during the Vietnam War, the U.S. Army regularly sent Special Forces sniper teams into Laos and Cambodia. Their assignments took them deep into enemy territory. Many teams never returned.
Heirs of Honor is the memoir of Lucky, the youngest member of one of those killing teams. A hero worshipping kid awed by the more experienced men around him, he was more than willing to prove himself to them and ignore the damage to his young soul.
He was only 20 when introduced to the Special Forces team, and “star-struck” at being invited to join them. Their journey into the madness that only exists in war is chronicled in Lucky’s journals, as well as the toll on his spirit, as he grows from innocent High School kid to scarred warrior.
