How has it taken me THIS long to read this book! This one hit different.
On her first offical tour of duty in Iraq, medic Katy Scott goes out on a humanitarian mission with her bff - Mullens, and the charming and flirty infantry soldier Briggs, while en route they are ambushed and taken prisoner by militants. The things Briggs and Scottie have seen and went through while POW’s was heartbreaking but everything after that hurt just as much. It was extremely hard reading these powerful tragic scenes and when they final get rescued after months in captivity, the healing should begin.. only the fight has just begun for everyone involved!

I was a sobbing mess more than once. And thought about this book for hours afterwards.
Do yourself a favour and READ it…. Now!! Just keep the tissues close, you’re gonna need them

Absolutely soul crushing

I DO NOT CRY.....
I cried 3 times 😭😭😭

This is raw, emotional, turbulent, gut wrenching and soul destroying, I found myself holding my breath in anticipation of what was coming.

This one won't be for everyone but if you're brave enough to read it you will not be disappointed.

There are multiple trigger warnings particularly in relation to military/combat in addition to others so make sure they you take heed.

Thank god for happy endings, this book hurt, made me gasp in pain, made me cry and laugh. New authors to me, and in parts I wanted to die right along with the characters, well done, I love it.
