About this listen
Part psychological study, part self-help book, Finding Flow is a prescriptive guide that helps us reclaim ownership of our lives.
Based on a far-reaching study of thousands of individuals, Finding Flow contends that we often walk through our days unaware of and out of touch with our emotional lives. Our inattention makes us constantly bounce between two extremes: During much of the day, we live filled with the anxiety and pressures of our work and obligations, and during our leisure moments, we tend to live in passive boredom. The key, according to Csikszentmihalyi, is to challenge ourselves with tasks requiring a high degree of skill and commitment. Instead of watching television, play the piano. Transform a routine task by taking a different approach. In short, learn the joy of complete engagement. Though they appear simple, the lessons in Finding Flow are life altering.

nice easy listen. this is my favourite book so far about the flow state as it had practical tips and also touched on the different aspects of flow that people may be encounter in their lives.

the gift of creative understanding, to me
Thank you Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. I retain the message, that is hard to grasp completely on first listen, as a cloud of resource. I think it is always to be a creative resource not a set factual block of information. I plan to listen again. I only get interesting and engaging and creative thoughts with this. The narrative is very enjoyable and deep.

I returned
this book said nothing about flow, other than 20minutes at the end of chapter 2, haha. It was a book that explained statistics of who worked where and how people feel about work. I was so disappointed, I gave it a chance, but it never got better.

Nothing about flow
Listened to the first hour of this book and there was no indication there was going to be anything to do with flow.
Waiting for my membership pause to complete so I can return.
