Publisher's Summary

For all that Jason knows, life is amazing. But he's about to learn that all his new power, wealth, and influence comes at a price.

Riding high on success, he and his team are looking to the future, preparing themselves for the challenges to come. Nothing, however, could have prepared him for the lessons his enemies have to teach. When magic is involved, the stakes can be even greater than life and death.

While Jason’s personal enemies make plans, the greater foes plaguing his new home have been pushed to the brink. With one powerful card left to play, they are on a collision course with Jason and his team. With no one to help and more than their lives on the line, Jason and his companions must fight with more monsters than ever in the race to grow stronger. With an invincible enemy already anticipating them, they will learn that sometimes winning the battle is more important than surviving it.

what is sleep?

Another exciting book in a series I just can't wait to read more of. Literally worked with only 2 hours of sleep under my belt because I couldn't stop listening. The story hooked me in and I couldn't get enough. Cheers

Time bending

Not sure if it's because of the playback speed I use or if this book is genuinely funnier than its predecessors which were already hilarious, but I have caught myself snorting several times in quick succession.

Couldn’t put it down

There is something about this series that just keeps you hooked. The story is always on the move. There are never lulls between its peaks. It’s funny, yet at the same time tackles some serious concepts and themes with tact. The characters are well rounded and continue to develop as the series moves forward. It shows some truly healthy relationships (mostly platonic), and even throws in some subtle LGBT characters without it being a focus of their character.
I honestly cannot wait for the next instalment.

awesome

this series is a new favourite of mine, as an avid reader for the last 30 years for me that's saying something.
I have read probably thousands of books from most genre's, and have enjoyed the lit RPG books I have encountered since joining audible. The one major downside to this genre is the ability of authors to really get outside the gaming world and into the fantasy aspects they are writing about.
personally I believe the He who fights with monsters books seamlessly integrate the two genre's into an amazing and captivating series.
these books have captivated me and drawn me into the world, reigniting the excitement I found in reading from my first real love of this past time I developed whilst devouring the J R Tolkien book The Hobbit. the end of which left me fealing delighted and inexplicably sad. as with that book and of course The following Lord of the rings series I am obsessed with the world and characters created in my mind.
Having since realised the source of these emotions it is a Joy to mourn the friendships I have made, whilst being left with the gratifying knowledge that I can always visit them again.
After the lengthy and ambling review, thank you for your time in reading my humble opinion, and especially for the renewed excitement for the discoveries and challenges that our entrepid yet no longer innocent adventurers will have to face and gods willing overcome.
