Bekannt sind vor allem die großen Bauwerke, die Hatschepsut errichten ließ, an erster Stelle ihr Totentempel in Deir el-Bahari, direkt neben dem Grab Mentuhoteps. Als Baumeisterin war sie auch im Amun-Tempel von Karnak tätig; die rundplastischen Bildnisse zeigen sie zunächst noch als Frau, später setzt sich dann die ausschließliche Darstellung als Mann durch.
