Publisher's Summary
For fans of Maya Banks's KGI series, prepare to meet the men of the Delta Force Brotherhood, a sexy new contemporary series where kicking ass and living hard is just how they roll.
Ex-special forces ranger Dylan McCourt is a stone cold killer who cares only about his military brothers and doing what's right. He's used to giving orders and has zero patience for bullshit. Most people tremble when they look him in the eye, but not his infuriatingly sexy new rescue mission, Jessie Lyon. She just juts her chin and says she's not leaving without clearing her father's name, to hell with his rules. And was that a one finger salute he sees in her eyes or his imagination? Either way, he knows this is one job his training might not have prepared him for.
Contains mature themes.

good plotline, great romance, likeable characters.
First time listening to this author and I really enjoyed the plotline. It appeared to be a simple h gets in trouble. H gets taken, H swoops in to rescue the h but it got more complicated and angsty and i really liked the extra layer Sheryl added to the book.
I thought for a moment in the very beginning that it was going to be an instalust situation which is not my trope and although chemistry did roll up pretty quickly it wasn't an eyeroll moment. The steam was there and added to the romance and attraction to create a team between h and H.
Jessie was strong and sassy and a likeable heroine, whereas her friend is clever, yet in some instances tut tuttingly dopey.
Dylan was the usual Alpha. Although he wasn't the broody, moody, stubborn type of alpha, this hero actually listened to h and allowed resources to fold in with his brotherhood operation. I did want to slap him upside the head in the final chapter. I had a huge smile at all of Trey's gadgets, they were awesome.
Although the bad guy wasn't exactly smart as the good guys repeated their saving execution and they fell for it.
The pace was good, it kept rolling along with action loping from one situation to another. Slipping in with some humour and the odd worriesome romantic moment.
All in all for a detective, mission style novel it's slightly on the lighter side but the storyline has twists and turns. I really liked listening
As for Rock Engle, I've listened to him before in other genres and sometimes he was a little cringeworthy, here however, he did really well, he had great voices for different characters and his inflections were great.
Definitely one of his better narrations.
Will look at book 2

Predictable
Disappointing. The story sounds familiar and predictable. The story had no depth The main character has a huge sense of entitlement, she is ungrateful, demanding and immature. Please write something where a woman has some intelligence
