Publisher's Summary
An original novel set in the Halo universe—based on the New York Times bestselling video game series!
Stripped of armor, might, and memory, the legendary Forerunner warrior known as the Didact was torn from the physical world following his destructive confrontation with the Master Chief and sent reeling into the mysterious depths of a seemingly endless desert wasteland. This once powerful and terrifying figure is now a shadow of his former self—gaunt, broken, desiccated, and alone. But this wasteland is not as barren as it seems. A blue light glints from a thin spire in the far distance…
Thus begins the Didact’s great journey—the final fate of one of the galaxy’s most enigmatic and pivotal figures.

Fixes the gaps
Really good story, fixes up and ties up many knots between Halo 3, 4, 5 and Infinite (among other books in the series I personally haven't read). I haven't read any other Halo book but this 100% feels like Halo and I really enjoyed this book. 9.5 out of 10, I wished the original voice actors for each characters were present, that would've been so cool with a little extra music int he background would've been so dope 👌

The Didact gaining some peace at the end of the novel was well deserved for a character such as himself.
I liked how it has tied up some loose ends between the story of halo 4 and now currently halo infinite.

a fitting end to the Didacts story
A great conclusion to the Forerunner trillogy. it fills in the many plot holes of Halo 5 and Infinite and neatly ties everything together. Make sure to read The Greg Bear Forerunner trillogy and Halo Fractures first though. I loved the Didacts character and like many was upset with his end in the Escalation comic. This story follows directly from those events and follows the Didact through his intriguing past and takes us on his future journey.
