الحجاج بن يوسف؛ رواية تاريخية غرامية لجُرجي زيدان, تدخل ضمن سلسلة روايات تاريخ الإسلام. يتناول فيها زيدان الوقائع التاريخية التي رافقت مسيرة حياة الحجاج بن يوسف تلك الشخصية التي أطبقت شهرتها الآفاق، حتى ضرب بها المثل في البطش، فقد كان للحجاج مواقف وأعمال لا يزال يذكرها التاريخ. تطرقت الرواية إلى عدة أحداث مثل ظهور الخلافة الأموية والحروب التي قامت على إثرها في عهد الخليفة عبد الملك بن مروان ، حيث تضمنت القصة حصار مكة على عهد عبد الله بن الزبير وفتحها ومقتله الذي أدى إلى خلافة عبد الملك بن مروان واصفاً من خلال السرديات مشاهد لمكة والمدينة' كلّ ذلك من خلال قصة حب بين شخصيتين في الرواية هما (حسن وسمية) تلك القصة التي تحكي الحب والعفة ، المعاناة والخوف ثم الفرح والانتصار.
