About this listen

I'm not all that special, really. I'm sure there are a lot of girls with old gypsy blood who see the dead, have killer cults hunting their family, and turn into something that gets scary when they panic. Yep. I'm just an ordinary girl. I wish people would believe that.

I've been labeled as one thing or another for most of my life: Death Girl. Crazy Gypsy Girl. Gothic Chick. Monster.

It took my mother's death for me to finally start getting answers about what's really been going on. Unfortunately, most of the answers come from men . . . who aren't just men. Somehow, I've gone and landed myself in a world truly filled with monsters, and I'm starting to think this is where I should have been all along.

Only . . . I don't understand what's going on. I'm walking into the middle of a story that's thousands of years old, and I'm the new girl on the block who doesn't have a clue how this world even works. My only guides happen to be the most lethal of the bunch.

I've gone and drawn attention to myself, and the ones paying attention are the ones everyone else seems to fear. How do these things always happen to me?

Contains mature themes.

Interesting first entry

It's a good lead up I definitely want to hear another. The comic relief for Anna the ghost is awesome. It is a little disappointing they wernt more consistent with their character narrations though as it will be either male or female for the entire chapter which can get confusing with the changing voices. Had the shaun grindle narrated the male parts throughout and melissa the female I think i would have enjoyed it much more especially with anna the ghost.

Interesting story

I agree the the male narration is confusing. The female is amazing.
Can someone confirm if Kirsty was Romany? As Rom I have to say it grated my teeth a bit every time the G word was used. For many is considered a slur; and if you’re not Rom it’s best you don’t use it. I’m looking at you Jason M 😂😭

I am a Gypsy

I am Romani and I think this is an absolutely fantastic story anyone who is offended by the word gypsy does not actually know the history of gypsies my forebearers were among the earliest gypsies in Australia and I am so proud to be a gypsy or as other countries like to call them Romani travellers and Wanderers god bless us all and our diversity in all things including nomenclature

Great

I’m glad I gave this one a go. Wasn’t a big fan of the male voices at all had me cringing so bad at the beginning I contemplated skipping audio altogether and going to find the actual book. Anna is hilarious saved the audio for me. Looking forward to the next one but seriously contemplating reading the rest of the serious.

AMAZING

I loved this audiobook! I had previously read 'Four Psychos' by Kristy Cunning and loved that, so this quickly reached my TBR list, but it took a while for me to actually get the book. I am so glad that I finally decided to listen to the audiobook. The narration was amazing, with alternating perspectives from either Shaun Grindell or Melissa Moran. The storyline was equally as amazing, holding heartbreak, plot twists, and scenes that require an open mind where you witness to protagonist alternating binary emotions in one scene. Having said that, all of the protagonists are amazing, as well as Violet's newly acquired ghost friend Anna who made me laugh out loud so many times throughout the book. If you have read the blurb and think this might be something that you will like then I would definitely recommend it to you. I hope you find you love it just as much as I do. Enjoy!
