Surfing pro Frank Sparks has spent his life walking on water. A competition favorite, he's not in it for the money, or the rush; he's in it for love. The way he feels about the waves, his girlfriend, lifeguard Liz Jensen, feels about him. It's a charitable heist. The elderly owner wants a cache of diamonds stolen so he can collect the insurance money. He also wants a taste of Christine, ostensibly Max's lover. But family ties and the bonds of love tangle into double crosses that confound Frank - as he rips toward a constantly shifting shoreline on a wave that threatens to wipe him out.
