Bloody Brilliant!

Book 3 was the best. This series was really enjoyable, never boring, quick pace and very spicy.

enjoyable

Surprisingly light hearted for a story based around systematic child abuse. Really it's not as dark as that sounds. Lots of humour and fun characterisation. Written in a post covid world which was interesting given what's happened in Canada since. Narration was fairly good, made a good effort at differentiating a lot of characters consistently across all the books (though someone wearing a baklava on their head made me laugh). If you enjoy shifter stories give this a go, you'll not regret it. (the first few chapters of the first book make the MMC sound like an asshat, but he and the whole thing improve from there)

Good but not great.

I listened to these through audible plus.
This is one of the few series by this author I’ve never read. I started it ages ago but couldn’t get into it at the time.
I feel there should be more books to this series, and related to these characters, maybe one day.
1 - DOMINIC
Fun read but a few things didn’t work or make sense.
Loved all the delicious food mentioned and how these adopted siblings were with each other.
All wraps up quite quickly and unfortunately Thomas, Annika's scummy ex-husband, doesn’t get his just reward.
Found the wanting grand-babies thing a bit strange, as it seems to be a thing that won’t or cannot happen.
The authors own words are. (“Now might be a good time to mention that with a few of you manifesting, there have been issues with the whole baby-making aspect.” According to her brother, humans couldn’t handle a huanimorph fetus. The mothers miscarried them early on. As for the huanimorphs themselves? The females appeared infertile.)
So this really seemed to be a major issue and something that wasn't addressed, especially as huanimorphs are obviously being born.
2 - STEFAN
Nimway was a bit too aggressive and mean at the beginning.
But it played out well.
Loved Nana/mum and her actions.
I hope we get some closure with the labs and Mr X.
Want to read Gwain’s story, I want him to get a HEA.
3 - RAYMOND
Overall an entertaining read.
Loved Sunshine.
Wasn’t keen on how callous Lainey came across in regards to taking down the labs. When she described what happened I felt sorry for the vampire that was there.
Though she certainly was a very capable heroine.
Raymond certainly acted the computer geek that he was. But he came through when needed.
Ended quite abruptly with Mr X. Expected just a bit more but don’t know why.
