About this listen
Dr David Perlmutter's number one New York Times best-seller about the devastating effects of gluten, sugar, and carbs on the brain and body - updated with the latest nutritional and neurological science.
When Grain Brain was published in 2013, Dr Perlmutter kick-started a revolution. Since then, his book has been translated into 30 languages, and more than 1.5 million people have been given the tools to make monumental life-changing improvements to their health.
They've lost weight, banished anxiety and depression, reduced or eliminated chronic conditions, and taken proactive steps to safeguard themselves against cognitive decline and neurological disease - all without drugs.
In this fully revised, five-year anniversary edition, Dr Perlmutter builds on his mission. Drawing on the latest developments in scientific research, which have further validated his recommendations, he explains how the Grain Brain program boosts the brain, shows the benefits of using fat as a main fuel source, and puts forth the most compelling evidence to date that a non-GMO, gluten-free, and low-carb diet is crucial for cognitive function and long-term health.
Featuring up-to-date data and practical advice based on leading-edge medicine, including modified guidelines for testing and supplements, plus a wealth of new recipes, Grain Brain empowers you to take control of your health like never before and achieve optimal wellness for lifelong vitality.

A must-read if you care about your brain.
I love this book. It is an incredibly important book. The author - David Perlmutter, MD, FACN, ABIHM is a Board-Certified Neurologist and Fellow of the American College of Nutrition. Alzheimer's and Dementia are among the leading causes of death in the US. Many other respected Doctors such as Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Dale Bredesen and Dr. William Davis agree with this book.

Possibly the most important book you could read
If you are concerned about developing age related brain disorders, this book provides research and a road map for prevention. While still needing to reconcile some points with dominant thinking by cardiologists, I appreciate the divergent perspective and will continue to follow the research and Dr Perlmutters thinking. Very helpful indeed!

Very robotic narration
Very eye opening and informative. Really enjoyed it. The only let down was the way it was read. Sounded very digital.

Audiobook was hard to listen to
The narrator’s voice sounded a little bit like an AI generated voice so I found it hard to stay engaged especially as the content is so technical. The majority of the book is focused on how terrible gluten is, but what’s missing is how it can exist in a balanced diet and what we can do to balance out the inflammation instead of cutting out gluten completely.
