About this listen
"Ignore everything you think you’re meant to be doing, and bunker down with this." (Better Reading)
Big Little Lies meets Marian Keyes with a dash of Donna Hay; a deliciously hilarious, honest, and heartfelt portrayal of modern-day motherhood and the saving grace of female friendship.
Grace Harkness looks like she has it all - two beautiful children, four cookbooks under her belt, and an idyllic beachside home #blessed. But add another baby on the way (oops), a spouse that is nowhere to be seen, and a relentless list of things she "should" be doing, and Grace is starting to unravel.
When the madness of modern-day motherhood finally pushes her to the brink, Grace and her friends decide to ditch the men in their lives, move in together, and create a "mummune" - sharing the load of chores, school pick-ups/drop-offs, and endless Life Admin. The new set-up seems like a dream, but is life in this utopian village all it’s cracked up to be?
Praise for Grace Under Pressure
"What a funny, real and insightful depiction of motherhood, friendship and the struggle (which, demonstrably, is REAL). I hungrily devoured the pages of this deftly written book. An ode to the power of women." (Sally Hepworth, author of The Good Sister)
"I was utterly and overwhelmingly hooked to every single brilliant, funny, sharp, gorgeously written page." (Ceridwen Dovey, author of Life After Truth)

Wonderful book!
This was my first audiobook experience and I have thoroughly enjoyed it! Loved the narration, and was quickly absorbed in the characters and story. Many mums would identify with the characters in this book. Will look for more by this author.

Great portrayal of mothering in modern times.
This was such a great book. Most mothers who've ever struggled would relate to this. The pressures we put on ourselves and that come from the role. Haschka captures perfectly the stress of modern motherhood and the importance of support and the strength in connection and community. Narrators were a perfect fit for the characters. Hope Haschka will write more fiction. Highly recommend this book.

it takes a village
Loved this book. Recommended to me by a friend, I could see parts of myself in all characters- especially Grace with her need to do everything right. The narration was great too and I especially enjoyed seeing the world through each mum's eyes.

OMG
it's all about 3 women that moved in together. Their ups and downs. And about modern day parenting. The four main characters are very likeable. It have some humour. I found myself laughing out loud. I love the book so much. 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Communes and Candy
This is only the 2nd audio book I have listened to. I'm not sure if I am a fan or not. I found it hard to concentrate on the story finding myself thinking about other things and all of a sudden a few minutes had gone by. Is this down to the narration or the storyline? This story is a good snapshot of motherhood, relationships and the perils of social media. Although the blend was good, I didn't find it captivating.

For a select audience perhaps?
A rather nauseating story about rich white women and their journeys through motherhood, where you feel immense guilt for feeding your child prepackaged food, and your estranged husband (who does practically zero childcare) can get back into your life by reminding you that at least he doesn’t hit you. As a child-free Gen-Xer I don’t think this book was meant for me. The story where women band together to help each other was insipid and just as elitist as the rest of it. “I know! You can all move into my giant beach mansion and we’ll cook and drink wine!” Surely a fantasy for the Lorna Jane set, but it didn’t land for me at all.
