About this listen
A jilted groom and a guy who doesn't believe in monogamy fall in love? Yeah. Right.
After getting cheated on at my own goddamn wedding, I'm through with men. I'm approaching fifty, and all I've ever wanted is to settle down, get married, and live happily ever after. But yeah, that hasn't exactly worked out great for me.
The last person I expect to understand me is Tate. Sure, he's cute, curious, and clever. A firecracker with no filter who somehow manages to stay friendly and genuine at the same time. But he isn't exactly a settle-down kinda guy. Oh, and did I mention he's also twenty years younger than me?
There's no way something could ever happen between the two of us, so how is it possible that Tate has got me looking at love—and him—in a whole new light?

Opposites attract
Another great story in the series. This was a low angst, high laugh story where Gus finally gets his man. I love Gus’s rejection of all new technology , his love of everything 80s/90s and his blasé attitude to not being hip and knowledgeable that drives Tyler mad.
As always the other characters bring a fun light element to the story.

Sweet and fun with some classic tropes!
Owner of the veterinary clinic, Vet Shop Boys, Gus has spent the last 18 months partying, trying to forget being cheated on by his just-married husband, who is now trying to claim his assets in the divorce. In his late 40s, Gus still misses his first love, Andrew. Gus’s friends take turns babysitting him on his nights out and 20 yo Tate is happy to take his turn when a mutual friend can’t make it. The two hit it off sexually but being committed to a poly lifestyle, Tate can’t see a future for them. When the two head to NY for work commitments, they begin a magical few days of dates and fun which has them both reevaluating whether they can make it work long term.
This story hit the fake relationship, forced proximity, and age-gap tropes big time. Gus is willing to respect whatever decision Tate makes, so Tate has to work through what being poly means to him and whether he can see a future with just one person. Gus works hard to give Tate a bunch of different dating experiences which charm Tate over time—it’s sweet and touching with a few steamy moments. Most people won’t mind, but the only shortcoming for me was how schmaltzy the epilogue was, way too sugary for my taste! 🎧 Veteran voice actor John Solo was brilliant as usual on the audio!!
