About this listen
It's just a one-night stand, they said. It'll be simple no-strings fun, they said. They. Lied.
I'm done with love and being broken-hearted. The only dogs I want to deal with are the ones I treat in the veterinary clinic I work at.
But at 34, having my first one-night stand can't hurt. Right? The rules are pretty simple.
1. Don't spend the night. 2. Don't see him again. 3. Don't share anything personal. 4. Don't fall in love with him.
But when Haze, the guy I spent a blazing hot night with and haven't been able to forget about, shows up as our new receptionist, the rules fly out the window.
There's no way one night could lead to anything more. So why has Haze got me hoping this might just last?
Contains mature themes.

Sweet and uncomplicated spicy romance!
Noah works as a vet at the cutely named Vet Shop Boys clinic. He hasn’t hooked up with anyone for years and, to his friends’ amazement, he’s never had a one-night stand. When he meets Haze, he decides it’s time to try one, and Haze is a safe bet since he’s about to leave the country. Six months later, Noah is flabbergasted to find out the new Vet Shop Boys receptionist is none other than Haze and the two start up a tentative friendship and more. Both men have been hurt by previous partners and Haze still has no idea what he wants to do with his life, but with the support of each other, their lives start to improve.
Sometimes you just want an uncomplicated, low-angst relationship and this cute workplace romance was just what I needed. It’s enjoyably sweet, fun in places, and super-spicy in others. The author doesn’t do Haze any favours when she has him repeatedly describe his endowment in glowing terms early on but, once you get past that, he and Noah are decent guys and their chemistry is amazing! I also really liked their friends and colleagues, and I’m looking forward to each of them getting their own story. 🎧 John Solo is always a superb narrator and I loved his performance here (this first in the series is currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue)!
