An old favourite.

I read this when I was 13. How good to hear it lazily with wonderful character portrayals. I hadn't realised how complex the story was as a kid; I just found it entertaining. I've listened to it many times.

Beyond exceptional

Gormenghast/Titus groan/ mervyn Peake/ Saul reichlin create an audio experience a story experience beyond good into something approaching transcendent - the world is better off with this masterpiece within the fold of its bosom
