Publisher's Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
From the bestselling author of Ghosts and Everything I Know About Love: a sharply funny, beautifully observed and exquisitely relatable story of heartbreak and friendship, and how to survive both.
Andy loves Jen. Jen loved Andy.
And he can't work out why she stopped.
Now he is. . .
1. Without a home
2. Waiting for his stand-up career to take off
3. Wondering why everyone else around him seems to have grown up while he wasn't looking
Set adrift on the sea of heartbreak at a time when everything he thought he knew about women, and flat-sharing, and his friendships has transformed beyond recognition, Andy clings to the idea of solving the puzzle of their broken relationship. Because if he can find the answer to that, then maybe Jen can find her way back to him.
Andy still has a lot to learn, not least his ex-girlfriend's side of the story.

Funny, relatable thoroughly enjoyed!
Enjoyed Everything I Know About Love and Ghosts, so I had high expectations - and was far from disappointed. Great narration too. The flip in POV was a powerful way to close the story and even stronger with a new narrator to listen to.

Dolly captures heartbreak perfectly
Loved the book and the performance. I grew to love the characters and their development throughout the course of the story

Fabulous
Took me a while to get into but 1/3 of the way in I was hooked. Beautifully written and great way to change the perspective on a breakup story.

OK Material
Hero is a bit infuriating. While it's written amusingly, I couldn't really like Andy. Bit of a no-hoper who should have had a day job. Good resolution, though.
Male narrator is very good.

The last Chapter
I found parts of this slow but overall the writing itself was amazing I think I’m just use to books with quicker moving plots. The second point of view at the end from the other side of the fence was my favourite part

Not funny
I pulled this title from the comedy section as I felt like having a laugh. I persevered through the book as I had some long distance driving to do and I swear I literally did not crack a smile once. Both of the characters were incredibly annoying. The story was engaging to the extent that I listened to it however it was not comedy. It was basically a drama with irritating characters.

Long slow start
I don’t really get the hype of this book. The start was very slow and depressing and it was until the last hour or two of the book that I actually started to enjoy it. It did move me and made me cry at the end which maybe Andy’s POV lent itself to it. I would re read/listen but it was a thought provoking piece, just be prepared for it to be rather slow to start

Poignant yet beautiful
Dolly Alderton just gets people in all of their flawed glory. The vulnerability and growth of the characters just draws you in. This could be the story of your friends, your partner or you. Particularly love the surprises in the last quarter of the story.

I want to give more than 5 stars..!
LOVE LOVE LOVED this book. Pulled at the heartstrings in all the best ways. I swapped between the hard copy and audio, and have to say I preferred the audio! The narrators did such a fantastic job, that hearing their voices really formed who the characters were for me in my head. Gut punches in the best way with some lines. Totally beautiful and will stay with me. Thank you Dolly for putting things into words that can be so hard to unjumble when it comes to relationships!!
