Sadness, fear, hate and joy
if you too have read this book, you might find as I did parallels with today’s America. A snippet of American life reflecting the country the world sees in 2025. There’s great joy found in the continued story of Syd and Maddie and their friends and family in the town of Jericho, located in the hills of Virginia, Sadness strikes this once contented group, as the vagaries of life come to the forefront. Then fear spreads in its insidious way. Breaking the surface of this seemingly idyllic small town, is the rise of hatred fostered by a group of evil people whose aim in life is the destruction and eradication of Maddie and Syd’s way of life. If the previous book was an idealistic version of small town America, (and who doesn’t want that in fiction), then this book turns everything on its head. Considering the book was written back in 2017 the parallels are frighteningly realistic.
