Doctor Kent Abner began the day of his death comfortable and content.

When Kent Abner - baby doctor, model husband and father, good neighbour - is found dead in his town house in the West Village, Detective Eve Dallas and her team have a real mystery on their hands. Who would want to kill such a good man? They know how, where and when he was killed, but why did someone want him dead?

In Death's latest brings unique villains and death

Although I could never get tired of Eve Dallas, some of the middle books seemed repetitive. Like the two books about old men raping people and getting killed as revenge? Yeah.

This book introduces a new style, new weapon, and really takes us into the psychology of the killer(or killer, no spoilers here folks).

Absolutely worth it, especially in audio book.

Book 49!

Yet another brilliantly thought out and engaging episode in a captivating story. This one is solely the case which was fun but had none of the other peripheral character storylines which are as interesting a part of the series as the cases for me! I’m finding myself going back through the titles looking for the .5’s I may have missed and found some real gems. I love the voices Susan Erickson (please excuse any misspelling) has created and continued through the entire series, some of which I wasn’t too keen on to begin with but now sound so recognisable they are friends. Congratulations Ms Roberts on yet another superb book, and to Ms Erickson for bringing it to life so well in spite of a just noticeable but beautifully compensated for cold.

Eve Dallas is my hero

Love the whole series. I do love the Lieutenant Dallas, but she could be a better wife. Roark drops everything for her. I can see Sandra Bullock as Eve, there is no male actor who is as good looking as Roake

Flat

This latest in series left me so bored I proceeded to speed the audio so as I could finish and not waste my money. No interaction with previous characters, what was that all about? Roarke's part in this was OK for one or two sessions but now he is the Police 24/7 in all these books, why hardly any interaction with the police themselves? And another thing anyone building their ultra kingdom like this guy by now is talking children for his ego. I will try one more book but think it is time to retire Dallas and co.
