About this listen
Catalina, the grand-daughter of Spanish refugees is a disciplined student with the School of the Paris Opera Ballet. Little gets inthe way of her career until the visit of an otherworldly being, who leaves her a mysterious pair of golden earrings.
Given a quest, Catalina realises she must explore her own Spanish heritage and makes the connection between the visitor and ‘La Rusa’, a young Andalusian flamenco star.
La Rusa died in exile in Paris in 1952, her death ruled as suicide. But as Catalina begins to discover, there were those in the Spanish émigré community, amongst them her grandmother, who had good reason for wanting La Rusa dead.

Excellent value, powerful story
Another wonderful story by this author and reader, as well as a piece of history I will always remember. If we could learn history in school through such powerful books it would stay forever.
Complicated twists and turns until the jigsaw finally is completed. I have read Tuscan Rose and Sapphire Skies and was left with the same enjoyment and feeling of being told a huge secret. Highly recommended for history, fiction, love, anger and crossing the barrier if ages. Thank you Belinda and Caroline.

Captivating story
I'm starting to develop an obsession for books narrated by Caroline Lee, she makes great stories come alive and does accents so well.
This is the second Belinda Alexandra book I've listened to and I loved it. It's so rich with historical events that I found myself googling information on them. The hardest part of the book for me was keeping track of the characters, you have to pay close attention and I think I'd benefit from listening again just as when you watch a movie a second time, you notice details you previously missed. I plan to listen to more of this authors books!
