About this listen
Transformative Leadership, an innovative approach to leadership developed by Núr University in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, has impacted thousands of people who have participated in projects and workshops in 40 countries in five different continents.
The core book, Transformative Leadership, presents:
- The need for a new style of leadership adequate for today’s world,
- The six elements of the conceptual framework of Transformative Leadership, and
- A summary of each of 18 capabilities that contribute to personal transformation, to enhancing interpersonal relations, and to collective transformation.
The present audiobook delves into two of the four capabilities that enhance interpersonal relationships:
- Infusing thoughts and actions with love, and
- Encouraging others and bringing joy to their hearts.
Although we often think of love as a feeling over which we have no control, in fact we can decide to love and increase our ability to love. We begin by using practices that increase our thoughts of love, then learn to be more loving in our words and actions. This audiobook presents a number of such practices that can help us in this process.
Love is also the basis for giving encouragement to others. To motivate others, we need to have attitudes of abundance and acceptance, coupled with positive expectations of others.
These positive attitudes need to be accompanied by skills, such as:
- Praising effectively,
- Helping others to understand the significance of their work,
- Giving them opportunities to develop their potential, and
- Accompanying them with an appreciative gaze as they develop new skills and capabilities.
Although everyone needs to develop these capabilities, they are essential for
- Couples
- Parents
- Friends
- Older siblings
- Teachers
- Coaches
- Leaders in volunteer organizations
Although I am not a person who came by these particular capabilities naturally, by studying and applying the practices I share in this audiobook, I have made progress and trust that I will continue to do so. I sincerely hope that you have a similar experience.
