About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Trailblazing pop star, actor and director Hayley Kiyoko debuts her first novel, a coming-of-age romance based on her breakthrough hit song and viral video, GIRLS LIKE GIRLS.
It's not that you're not like other girls. It's just that you've never met a girl like you. And then. You do. You meet her. And suddenly. The songs make sense.
It's summertime and 17-year-old Coley is alone, again. Forced to move to middle of nowhere Oregon after losing her mother, she is in no position to risk her already fragile heart. But when she meets Sonya, the attraction is immediate.
Coley worries she isn't worthy of love. Up until now, everyone she's loved has left her. And Sonya's never been with a girl before. What if by opening her heart, Coley's risking it all?

pure poetry
An amazing story. The story, the descriptions of the feelings, the highs the lows, I loved every minute of it. No description can do it justice. An experience everyone should have.

Music Video Brought to Life
This was basically an extended version of the music video in all of the best ways. It brought back all of the feelings of a young queer person just trying to fit into the world. Although very heartbreaking at times, this is the beautiful gay hug I needed. Thank you, Hayley.

A must listen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hayley Kiyoko has written and narrated this so well, I can't describe how amazing she is as a story teller but I can tell you that you will binge this because you just have to know what happens in the next chapter. Her performance was fantastic, you can just feel her emotion and her passion as she narrates.
Fingers crossed there is a sequel 🤞
