About this listen
The Shadow Market is a meeting point for faeries, werewolves, warlocks and vampires. There the Downworlders buy and sell magical objects, make dark bargains and whisper secrets they do not want the Nephilim to know. Through two centuries, however, there has been a frequent visitor to the Shadow Market from the City of Bones, the very heart of the Shadowhunters.
As a Silent Brother, Brother Zachariah is sworn keeper of the laws and lore of the Nephilim. But once he was a Shadowhunter called Jem Carstairs, and his love, then and always, is the warlock Tessa Gray. Follow Brother Zachariah and see, against the backdrop of the Shadow Market’s dark dealing and festival, Anna Lightwood’s doomed romance, Matthew Fairchild’s great sin and Tessa Gray plunged into a world war. Valentine Morgenstern buys a soul at the Market, and a young Jace Wayland’s soul finds safe harbour.
In the Market is hidden a lost heir and a beloved ghost, and no-one can save you once you have traded away your heart. Not even Brother Zachariah.
The series features characters from Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments, Infernal Devices, Dark Artifices and the upcoming Last Hours series.

Collection of Novellas to add to the reader’s understanding the Shadow Hunter world.
I really enjoyed this collection of Novellas. Though I do feel part of that is the fact that I have read every series from The Shadow World first, even though I know this book was released before Last Hours series. I do feel I got more enjoyment from it as I knew the characters and I knew the background of what the stories were based on. I feel with out that you mightn’t enjoy the book. It’s is very much a collection of small Novella’s what add to the other series in The Shadow Hunter world more so then a stand alone or additional story. Some stories are definitely better then others, through Jem and Tessa did help to make the story good no matter what. I also loved the confection between the stories in this book aswell. And can I say Alex and Matthew always outshone their parabatais so it was great to get more on them.

Loved the closure this brings to a lot of characters!!!
Such a good read, I was pleasantly surprised how much background and in between detail this brought to the other series. Jem and Tessa are the best and I love how Kit gets more background detail. I think this book should come with a strong recommendation to read all others in the franchise first because it won’t make sense at all in a lot of places if they don’t. Really enjoyed this overall!

very hard to follow
Found the storyline very hard to follow. Jumped between unknown characters with no explanation. And then ended totally abruptly without closing the story off in any way. Really disappointing considering how much I enjoyed the other books
