About this listen

When the colony ship Odyssey is found drifting on the edge of a forgotten star system, engineer Callen wakes to discover the crew is missing, and the ship’s systems are failing. But he isn’t alone. The echo of an alien signal infects the Odyssey, twisting the ship and the remnants of its crew into something monstrous, malevolent, and alive. The few survivors quickly learn the signal is sentient, and it spreads, warping minds, bodies, and technology alike.

With fellow survivor Rena, Callen battles through the ship’s darkness and horrors to escape. But the signal, embedded in the ship’s core systems and within their minds, will stop at nothing to spread beyond the Odyssey. Driven to extremes, Callen and Rena confront the signal, making desperate moves to reach the rescue pods—only to find that the infection has reached them too.

In a final act of defiance, Callen sets off the rescue vessel’s self-destruct, ensuring that the signal dies with them. As the remnants of the Odyssey drift through space, Callen’s last thought is one of peace, knowing the infection has been stopped, if only at the ultimate cost.
