About this listen
Borderline Personality Disorder. "What the hell was that?" raged Rachel Reiland when she read the diagnosis written in her medical chart. As the 29-year-old accountant, wife, and mother of young children would soon discover, it was the diagnosis that finally explained her explosive anger, manipulative behaviors, and self-destructive episodes - including bouts of anorexia, substance abuse, and sexual promiscuity. With astonishing honesty, Reiland's memoir reveals what mental illness feels like and looks like from the inside, and how healing from such a devastating disease is possible through intensive therapy and the support of loved ones.

A gift
This book is a gift. It sheds so much light on an experience of BPD from the inside, and what’s possible in recovery. Really well written & narrated. Thanks to Rachel for sharing her story.

It helped me understand I am not the only one experiencing these symptoms and have a heavy reliance on my therapist.

Honest, brave and authentic
I found this book very insightful particularly around how someone who has experienced trauma with this cluster of symptoms known as BPD thinks and views others and their world. Highly recommend

Couldn’t stop listening/reading!
This resonates on such a deep level. The author put into words the true, honest and heartbreaking feelings of being in the grips of mental health and emotional pain. It’s a real description and testimony of borderline and the unspeakable levels of attachment/relational/emotional pain. It’s encouraging and also shows hope and light that just because you have a personality disorder or childhood trauma you can navigate and learn to get relief.
