About this listen

The work of almost every branch of what has been called the “faith movement” today, can be traced back to one person (led by the Holy Spirit of course). That person is George Muller. A poor, humble man who made the incredible decision to dedicate his entire life to proving that God was in his day (and ours), still the same God of the Bible who hears and answers prayer in real, tangible ways.

Without ever asking for a single penny, he launched an orphanage that grew from a handful of little girls being taken care of in a little rented house, to a debt free, massive complex that held two thousand children at a time on Ashley Down. Each child was given individual education, and revival swept through those simple halls over and over again, as literally thousands of well documented miracles were performed by God.

This book was written by Muller’s long-time friend after Mr. Muller’s death as a companion piece to the original autobiography, along with his son-in-law. While George Muller did write his own story by his own hand, it was written as a technical series of reports rather than as a comprehensive story, and he stopped writing it twenty years before he died. Mr. Muller also left out many details in his autobiography that he felt would be puffing himself up. His son-in-law and Mr. Pierson hoped that this volume would tell the whole story, including the last twenty years of Mr. Muller’s, plus fill in the many gaps left out of the original autobiography.

May the Lord bless you as you embark on this journey, and may your life be changed by this book as countless others have for over 100 years!
