Publisher's Summary
Kind of dead. Straight-up psycho. Totally obsessed with her.
I did a bad, bad thing.
Thanks to a blank in my memory, I'm not sure what that thing was, but it was horrible enough to get me locked up in the psych ward for seven years.
When I'm released back into a town determined to rub my unknown sins in my face, the past isn't the only thing that's haunting me.
The four "imaginary" friends who made my childhood bearable are back...and undeniably real. Not to mention crude, criminally inclined, and more than a little unstable after ages trapped in afterlife limbo.
All they want is to protect me. Worship me. Avenge me.
So they'll bludgeon, maim, eviscerate—tear a strip of havoc right through this sleepy town.
Even rise from the dead.
Maybe I'm still not all that sane either, because part of me finds them strangely appealing. In ways very different from how I felt as a kid. And that's not the only strangeness stirring inside me....
I promised myself I'd stick to the straight and narrow from here on. But what if the only way to set things right is to get a little ghoulish?
*Gang of Ghouls is a darkly humorous new paranormal romance series by best-selling author Eva Chase. EQ FTW
I loved Their Dark Valkyrie series but not all of Eva chase's series, so I had mixed expectations. Favourite part of this for me is that the FMC has emotional maturity, makes everything less likely to irritate. It's not as interesting as Norse gods, but fun violent setting of gang battles. You have to suspend reality for some aspects of the first novel (re bullying etc) that don't get explained til book three. Again Eva Chase writes of abusive parents and child SA and it gets me hoping she's okay, but somehow it does still mostly stay in the fun realm, not depressing. I expect if I listened to the individual books I'd be fuming cos she loves a dramatic cliffhanger, but in this omnibus form it's all good. Enjoyable listen I didn't have any moments of dragging on (except the extra bit at the end which was blah), though I don't feel like I'll want to revisit again and again like the Valkyrie books.

The interrelationships
I loved that this still had a great story line and was still a little spicy.

This really could have been a 3 book series
I really enjoyed the concept of this story but boy was it dragged out. I almost DNF when the police were acting a certain way and the lead FMC wondered why they were behaving the way they did.
There were so many opportunities for the FMC to take the mark from people but she wouldn’t for some silly reason or another.
The final book was hard to get through, it won’t be a series I will return to listen to again.
