About this listen
New York Admirals captain Scott Hunter takes his pregame rituals very seriously. In this case, it's not just a lucky smoothie he's craving - it's the man who made it.
Pro hockey star Scott Hunter knows a good thing when he sees it. So, when a smoothie made by juice bar barista Kip Grady precedes Scott breaking his on-ice slump, he's desperate to recreate the magic...and to get to know the sexy, funny guy behind the counter.
Kip knew there was more to Scott's frequent visits than blended fruit, but he never let himself imagine being invited back to Scott's penthouse. Or kissed with reckless abandon, never mind touched everywhere all at once. When it happens, it's red-hot, incredible, and frequent, but also only on Scott's terms and always behind his closed apartment doors.
Scott needs Kip in his life, but with playoff season approaching, the spotlight on him is suddenly brighter than ever. He can't afford to do anything that might derail his career...like introducing the world to his boyfriend. Kip is ready to go all-in with Scott - but how much longer will he have to remain a secret?

A winning m/m hockey romance!
Closeted hockey captain of the NY Admirals, Scott Hunter is off his game until he meets juice bar barista, Kip Grady. Whereas Scott is hugely successful, Kip feels like he’s drifting. If they can make their secret relationship work, it will be a game changer for both of them. Although this followed the well-worn script of most m/m sports romances, there is a strong emphasis on Kip’s struggles to go back into the closet that sets it apart. Scott and Kip are well-drawn characters and there were enough appearances of other characters to avoid a claustrophobic focus on the two leads. The final scenes (no spoilers) really captured the moods of the competing teams perfectly. Audio narrator, Tor Thom has a pleasant soothing baritone. He voiced all characters well except for Kip, whose Brooklyn accent sounded stoned and weird; however, it wasn’t a deal breaker.

Couldn't finish
I believe the story would have been good however the narration was a deal breaker for me. I tried as much as I could but unfortunately I just couldn't go on.

Sweet and 🌶️
Super sweet story and great character development of the leads and their circle of friends and family. It’s easy to see where other MM hockey romances got their inspiration, seeing as this was written before most of them. The only negative was the accent the narrator chose for Kip, it was really off-putting and distracting.

Kip's accent.........
I mostly enjoyed listening to Game Changer - the storyline was enjoyable, and the 2 main characters were both very likeable. I did mostly enjoy the narrator's performance, except for Kip's accent, I ended up speeding up the narration due to the accent, all other parts (when Kip wasn't speaking) were fine to listen to. I would rate the overall performance of narration at 4 stars, Kip's accent around 2 stars.

Loved the story
Great story but it was a struggle to keep listening because if the voice of Kip. It was so bad, seriously like nails in a chalk board. The other voices were fine but Kip!
