About this listen

Walk the ancient streets, meet the colorful characters, and uncover the secret history of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the upcoming expansion to the Disney Parks experience!

After devastating losses at the hands of the First Order, General Leia Organa has dispatched her agents across the galaxy in search of allies, sanctuary, and firepower—and her top spy, Vi Moradi, may have just found all three, on a secluded world at the galaxy’s edge.

A planet of lush forests, precarious mountains, and towering, petrified trees, Batuu is on the furthest possible frontier of the galactic map, the last settled world before the mysterious expanse of Wild Space. The rogues, smugglers, and adventurers who eke out a living on the largest settlement on the planet, Black Spire Outpost, are here to avoid prying eyes and unnecessary complications. Vi, a Resistance spy on the run from the First Order, is hardly a welcome guest. And when a shuttle full of stormtroopers lands in her wake, determined to root her out, she has no idea where to find help.

To survive, Vi will have to seek out the good-hearted heroes hiding in a world that redefines scum and villainy. With the help of a traitorous trooper and her acerbic droid, she begins to gather a colorful band of outcasts and misfits, and embarks on a mission to spark the fire of resistance on Batuu—before the First Order snuffs it out entirely.

i totally recommend if you wanted more stories after reading Phasma. The Author does a great job linking from Phasma without spoiling. This book was full of adventures and great stories. 100% recommend!!

Someone send me to Disney!!!

This was a great sequel to Phasma. For a book that was made to promote Disney's Galaxy's Edge, I was enthralled and fell in love with all the characters. The stakes were severe, and the loss of Arjex felt so sad. All in all, I'm happy I read this.

Had me hooked from start to finish

This is one of the best Star Wars related stories I’ve read/listened to. It perfectly captures the struggle of the heavily beaten down resistance, trying to find ways of re-building to face the First Order. The way this story captures the humanity of it all is masterful. I found myself so invested in the characters that I was feeling happy and sad for them. Sucked me right in!

5 star all the way

This is a solid story
It’s not a depending on everything else for context story, this stands on its own really well
It is obviously to tie in and flesh out the Galaxy’s Edge theme parks - but it doesn’t rely on them at all, you will want to go more than ever before, but it’s still a great Star Wars story without the park

I hope to read more from Delilah S Dawson after this!!!

Odd Music Choices, Great World-Building

This is a fantastic book for those interested in the lore around the new Galaxy's Edge area in Disneyland as there's some brilliant exploration of the locations, characters, and culture associated with Batuu. This book also introduces several elements that could appear in Rise of Skywalker too.

What let's this audiobook down is its incredibly rushed production. Set after The Last Jedi, it's REALLY odd that none of the themes from that film or The Force Awakens are used. Instead we get the Imperial March and the Emperor's theme in scenes with the First Order instead of the actual FO theme from the films.

What's particularly odd is that John Williams has even composed music for the Galaxy's Edge theme park (avail on Spotify). If there was one track I was expecting to hear in this audiobook it was this one. Instead we get Anakin's theme and some other Prequel music. Lazy, rushed, and detracts from the finished product enormously.

Also: Can we PLEASE start getting male actors for the make characters?

Heavily references known characters to often

Story overall was fairly standard. Main criticism like mentioned is that the they overly reference characters like Leia and like, as well as the Jedi etc.
It feels like at least once per chapter the writer mentions either Leia, Luke or the Jedi or other events that it ends up detracting from the story and feeling almost...like a cringy fanfic at times.

It isn’t a terrible book by any means and I definitely enjoyed a lot at times, just know what ur getting into and temper ur expectations.
