Publisher's Summary
Faith McMann comes home to a nightmare: her husband is killed and her son and daughter are taken. Although the intruders leave her for dead, she survives. Crippling grief and fear for her children make life unbearable. Until her anguish turns to anger...and she trades victimhood for vengeance.
Frustrated with the law's efforts, she takes action to rescue her children - and wreaks havoc on the brutal criminals who tore them from her. With her family and newfound allies at her side, Faith descends into the hellish underworld of human trafficking, determined to make those who prey on the innocent pray for mercy.
The forces she's up against have already proven that their ruthlessness knows no bounds. And there's nothing they won't do to turn Faith's crusade into a suicide mission. But they're about to learn that nothing is more dangerous than a mother fighting for her children - especially one who's earned the nickname Furious.

Review
Story was great but the narrator took alot away from the book as I thought she was too flat and emotionless. Story was intense and thought provoking, it gives accounts of human trafficking and those being held captive without giving so much detail that it's uncomfortable to listen.I will be purchasing book 2.

Engrossing story, brilliantly narrated
The world can be a dark place. Some of us choose to pretend it's all light and wonderful. Some of us acknowledge the forces of evil around us but live our lives avoiding, always avoiding. Some see benefit in - profit from - choices and deeds they would never entertain in a sane, rational, empathetic state. And some have no choice but to be sucked into the shadows and scramble for survival, thoughts of the light they once experienced no more than distant memory.
Faith (Furious), Rage and Beast all have darkness thrust upon them, with their respective tragedies taking too much choice out of their hands as they descend into a man-made Hell. But like the children ripped from Faith and cast into the horrors of human trafficking, their innate belief in each other, in the love of family - both of blood and of their choosing - gives them the ability to rise above the darkness. To fight not just for survival but for the light we all deserve to enjoy.
I know this all sounds a bit too profound for a review of an audio book, but this is what I've taken from a story that needs to be told. T.R. Ragan's characters are truly 3-dimensional... even the antagonists having virtues and flaws we see in ourselves or people close to us. But, although we can invest in them, especially Faith and her wider family, they are deservedly secondary to the central theme. Human trafficking is a very real first world problem, despite what we might choose to believe. Faith is a very real wife and mother when we meet her, with daily concerns we can relate to as our own. When she is pushed into that dark world we comfort ourselves in believing to be fictitious or at least too far removed from our lives to ever effect us, we are made to feel the earth shift as if this crazy change in circumstances could as easily be forced on us. What would we do in her place? How would our children cope if they were dropped into these horrors?
I have only read this one book by T.R. Ragan, but I can now state hand on heart I am a devoted fan. And as an audio book, this was an absolute winner - which I can't always say about 3rd person narration.
Now I need to go and get started on Book 2!

Captivating. I couldn't put it down.
An overwhelming story of a mother's love for her children and the willing to go to the end of the earth to find them. This story also highlights the confronting insight into child abuse and trafficking. At first it was hard to fathom, but I couldn't put it down.
