Editorial reviews

Narrator Thomas Stephen, Jr., has a slightly whiney-yet-appealing voice, like a mild David Sedaris. He does a wonderful job performing From Whence You Came, tracing its magic diligently from start to finish. "Magic flows from wine, sea serpents roam, and one magician is about to get shoved out of his real life and into mythology," is how Laura Anne Gilman describes this book from her Vineart War Trilogy. For those of us familiar with the series, this book gives the magician character Bradhai center stage. We know him as the magician who once cleared the seas from serpents, and now makes his living as a humble vintner, tending his vines. Until he is whisked off in a breathtaking sea adventure.
