Pounder was raised in Guyana and schooled in Britain. Her film credits include Bagdad Café, Postcards from the Edge, Benny & Joon, and Face/Off. She's also had numerous TV appearances, on L.A. Law, ER, and Law & Order. Pounder is a member of the group Artists for a New South Africa, which is involved in AIDS outreach and education.
