About this listen

Becca McKenzie is just trying to make it through her senior year of high school. She has good friends and a gorgeous boyfriend, but Ryan Jackson, the bane of her existence, keeps popping up everywhere.

She doesn't care that they were best friends for years. She doesn't care that their moms are close, and therefore, she hears more about him that she'd ever care to know. She doesn't care that their mutual friend, Jake, keeps pushing them all to hang out together, and she especially doesn't care that the rest of the school bows down and worships him.

Becca decided years ago that he wasn't worth her time, and nothing, nothing, is going to change her mind.

Contains mature themes.

This book is so so amazing

OMG!!!! This book is so amazing and warms my heart so much it is so sweet and just adorable, the way that he tells her that he loves her and why he does what he does. It is so good and it deserves more than just a five star it is left me crying, the most happiest he is. Can I rarely ever do that with a book, and I have listened to 100 books but wow I Loved it so much even the voice recording person was so good it is truly amazing!!!!!!

Friends to Lovers High School Romance

Four Doors Down.

This book is based around best friends Rebecca and Ryan.

They have grown up together , their mothers are best friends, until …

Ryan starts to become good at sports, becomes popular, and begins to push Rebecca away from his new friends group.

At times, his demeanour is down right unkind.

Then, as Rebecca begins her first serious relationship with Charlie,
It appears Ryan starts to pursue Rebecca again…

Covertly,

Chapter, after chapter, appears to be attempts by Ryan’s best friend Jake, along the rest of the football team, and their partners , along with Rebecca’s friend Sam, and her parents, are all basically trying their best to push these two back together .

Each chapter finds Rebecca in a different setting were you can guarantee Ryan Jackson will show up .

It appears everyone know what’s going on between Rebecca & Ryan EXCEPT Rebecca!

It a sweet story but it just gets a bit repetitive as we sit and wait for Ryan to show up.

EVERY. SINGLE . TIME…

It is obvious that EVERYONE around these two are invested in pushing these two together.

And they all get their wish.

By the end the friends group and family members , can all pat themselves on the back for a job well done, as annoying as this was at times.

Some of their manipulations got extremely cringe at times.
And,
Rebecca’s ambivalence to the situation she is being manoeuvred into was mind boggling at times.

But the author delivers on the Ryan Epilogue POV, revealing just how obsessed he was at getting his best friend, his one and only love,

BACK

Allowing all his friends to bask in their efforts

Plus,

Rebecca could win a hold medal for eye rolling

Lead character too spoilt

Easy to listen to and the storyline is pretty obvious but ok anyway. Most irritating thing was the main character was always whinging about “herself” and came across as selfish, self entitled and almost mean.
