《尚书》又称《书》、《书经》,为一部多体裁文献汇编,是中国现存最早的史书。分为《虞书》、《夏书》、《商书》、《周书》。战国时期总称《书》,汉代改称《尚书》,即“上古之书”。因是儒家五经之一,又称《书经》。现存版本中真伪参半。一般认为《今文尚书》中《周书》的《牧誓》到《吕刑》十六篇是西周真实史料,《文侯之命》、《费誓》和《秦誓》为春秋史料,所述内容较早的《尧典》、《皋陶谟》、《禹贡》反而是战国编写的古史资料。今本《古文尚书》总体认为是晋代梅赜伪造,但也存在争议。
