About this listen

New York Times best-selling author S.L. Scott has crafted an epic and emotional story that embodies humor, great tension, a surprise pregnancy, and riveting standalone second chance romance that has listeners raving "intense chemistry and all-consuming!"

Noah Westcott should come with a warning: too hot to handle!

The man is stunningly handsome with his embracing brown eyes and lips that make me want to kiss that smirk right off his face.

How could I resist?

Spoiler: I didn’t.

That was my first mistake.

I blame him for the second. It should have been easy and fun. No strings attached. No feelings. As if he commanded it like he did me in the bedroom, I did exactly what I said I wouldn’t. I fell for him.

Two years later, the same man walks into my life. Again. A lot has changed. Not his devastating good looks, or that smug grin, but for me everything.

Now that Noah’s back—in my office and hanging around after hours—I can’t get distracted. I must protect my secret—the one who calls me Mommy.

LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS BOOK

Absolutely loved this book. No mucking around. This book teaches a girl what true love looks like and what a strong female does during times of tribulation.

Generally good story.. with misgivings

This is my first by this author. This story was generally good and I will listen to more by this author.
However, it starts with a very long sex scene, which I felt disconnected from as I hadn't had an intro to the characters and felt uninvested. For me the story could have been shorter as there was a lot of repetitive gushing about each other that became a bit tedious. I also found the long inner reflections stalling disclosing an important detail, rather irritating- though I suppose this was to build up anticipation and drama.
The narration was generally good. However they spoke more slowly than I'd like which made things seem more drawn out than necessary. I also found Savannah Peachwood Interpreted the heroine in an overly sweet, immature way, which seemed unlikely for a 'whip smart' woman who'd been offered a place at Yale. Jason Clarke is always good - but better when he's doing more conversational sections, when he does straight description he can sound like he is reporting on a crime show at times.
This may all be nitpicking but I did generally like the story and will read others by S.L.Scott.
