About this listen
On the face of it, representing a widow in an accidental death case should be routine. Sergeant Maynard, a Royal Air Force policeman, died in a simple motorcycle accident. The problem is, Mrs Maynard insists her husband was murdered. Sceptical at first, Charles realises she could be right; something much more frightening is happening at the airbase.
As rifts in the corrupt Metropolitan Police are revealed and the threats to Charles and those he loves escalate, he begins to wonder–has he finally bitten off more than he can chew?
Force of Evil, based on a true but unpublicised case of multiple murder, is a sixth crime novel in an exciting historical series, the Charles Holborne Legal Thrillers–gritty, hard-boiled mysteries set in 1960s London.

Love this series
I’ve read all of the series to date and love the narrator - the court room sequences feel particularly authentic and I thoroughly enjoyed all the legal wranglings. Can’t wait for the next one.

Good story, excellent narration
This is a good story, set in 60s London which has the most authentic narration I have heard. A great listen!

A little slower than the earlier books
I listened to books 3-6 in a row and for me this one just dragged a little compared to some of the earlier efforts. Less interesting descriptions of famous london landmarks a plot that while no doubt based on the facts strung so many elements together that parts were less plausible than usual.
Still I enjoyed enough that I will look forward to the next in the series.
