About this listen

This is the story of an apparently young, amnesiac girl whose alarmingly unhuman needs and abilities lead her to a startling conclusion: She is in fact a genetically modified, 53-year-old vampire. Forced to discover what she can about her stolen former life, she must at the same time learn who wanted - and still wants - to destroy her and those she cares for and how she can save herself.

Amazing vampire storytelling at its finest

I thought I would go into read this book after reading so many of Octavia e butlers others works, and I had so many pre conceived thoughts, but once again she really shocked me right until the end of the book.
You hear it every where reading this it’s faces humnajity and society’s and marginalised groups and displaces the psychological affects of us humans, and in this The Ina People.
I’ve she had more time I truly believe she would of coniued writing another book after this. Is was such a beautiful ride to read about vampires, but also about every thing else’s that Octavia e butler is good at doing.

What I don’t like is I have a disability and audible I have told many times I use this app to read with the oysical book, it’s the only way I can read books due to my imprariments and brain condition.

It’s completely disappointing that we in Australia do not get to collective hold all the titles that other countries that have them.

And I think it important audible does something for us marginalised communities as well with ethnic backgrounds to be more diverse and inclusive to their disabled customers.

Also their were a few sentences in the recording here in audible and missed a few sentences pivitol to the moments and story line.

However if your like me reading it at the same time you would notice these.

Audible please step your game up and release more of Octavia e butlers books on audible.

Great take on vampire genre by a great writer

This was an original, and great, take on the vampire genre by a fantastic writer. It was unfortunate that Butler did not have the opportunity to progress the series. The performance was also very good.
