Too often, we blame women. For walking home alone at night. For not demanding a seat at the table. For not overcoming the odds that are stacked against them.
This distracts us from the real problem: the failings and biases of a society that was not built for women. In this explosive book, feminist writer and activist Laura Bates exposes the systemic prejudice at the heart of five of our key institutions.
Education
Politics
Media
Policing
Criminal justice
Combining stories with shocking evidence, Fix the System, Not the Women is a blazing examination of sexual injustice and a rallying cry for reform.

Are you a woman? You NEED to listen to this book!
Laura Bates outlined the many ways that the systems we currently have hold women "at fault" for things that have nothing to do with us.
This book is eye-opening!

The best book I have read this year
The stories in this book are all of our stories. This issue effects us all . If we want our world to change in a positive way we need to strive for equality for all people. In my opinion this book should be a part of every school curriculum. It articulates the problems in the systems and in current culture and poses real ways forward into positive change.

Crucial listening for all in the fight for equality
Once again Laura Bates had provided a well researched, hard-hitting and devastatingly honest book that articulately explains the systemic issues embedding us in an ongoing state of patriarchy and fever inequality. The system isn't 'broken ', it's performing exactly as it has been designed to: keeping the police, justice system, media and general public lamenting the 'bad apples' and 'isolated incidents' of men's violence against women, rather than acknowledging and changing the system that supports and perpetuates it.

Brilliant as always
Yet another wonderful book by Laura Bates, beautifully written and narrated. Anyone who thinks that the patriarchy doesn’t exist or that “women are equal now” needs to read this book. The system is so broken and it’s killing women every day. Something has to change but it seems like the world is going backwards.

Wow just wow
I think I’ve never felt more validated in my entire life. I’m 40. I’ve been through countless instances of abuse too, I think we all have. This book is a must read for EVERYONE.
