A magical selection of stories by one of the world's best-loved children's authors, Enid Blyton.

This collection of over 50 stories brings together three of Enid Blyton's earliest and most imaginative story collections - The Book of Fairies (1924), The Book of Brownies (1926) and The Book of Pixies (1989) - and shows Blyton at her most imaginative and playful.

For Children

Struggled to finish it as it would be great for children to have all adventures but I enjoyed The Faraway Tree alot better.

The thing that stood out most is that every story is different but they all had a similar theme (including a morale)

I disliked that there were not names on the chapters/stories but other than that it had good narrators and I liked how it altered between narrators

This was the first book I ever listened to and I have been listening to it for years now. Great job Enid Blyton by the way. I am amazed at the first review I read of this book saying that it was terrible!!! I strongly disagree. I think that it was amazing!!!! Absolutely the best!!!

The thing that stood out the most were the characters

I liked all the chapters because of all the adventures and that every chapter, someone gets mad at someone else

Terrible

I will start by saying I am a huge fan of Enid Blyton’s Faraway tree and wishing chair series however was sorely disappointed by the stories in this book. Whilst the stories are reminiscent of the far away tree series with gnomes and pixies, magic, fairies Far away lands the vocabulary used in the stories is very immature and not something I’d like my children to be parroting - the number of characters that are referred to as silly, stupid or ugly is astonishing! In fact the number of times these words are used is astonishingly. By example a little boy says to his sister that she is ”a great stupid...just like all girls” and then wishes her away to the land of great stupid. I did not find this book appropriate for my three or five-year-old boys
