Publisher's Summary

The final installment in the Timekeeper trilogy

The crew of the Prometheus is intent on taking down the world's clock towers so that time can run freely. Now captives, Colton, Daphne, and the others have a stark choice: join the Prometheus' cause or fight back in any small way they can and face the consequences. But Zavier, leader of the terrorists, has a bigger plan - to bring back the lost god of time.

As new threats emerge, loyalties must shift. No matter where the Prometheus goes - Prague, Austria, India - nowhere is safe, and every second ticks closer toward the 11th hour. Walking the line between villainy and heroism, each will have to choose what's most important: saving those you love at the expense of the many, or making impossible sacrifices for the sake of a better world.

Fitting finale for this grand steampunk adventure!

Pressganged into helping Xavier and the crew of the Prometheus rid the world of its clock towers, clock mechanics Danny and Daphne, and clock spirit Colton Bell are caught in the middle when the ruthless Builders resurrect their bloodthirsty practices to power new clock towers. Xavier is determined to free the god of time and many lives will be sacrificed along the way and Danny and Colton’s relationship seems doomed no matter who wins.

Phew, this final in the Timekeeper Trilogy was a lot darker and gloomier than the two previous books! Once again Tara Sim explores the grey moral issue of sacrificing a few for the greater good. I hadn’t really noticed the contrast until this book: while Colton remains steadfastly morally pure, Danny becomes harder and more ruthless in the face of so much loss—it was excellent character writing! I’m sure I’m not the only one who shed a few tears over some of the characters—that was also great writing. So … ripping adventure series, strong world build, and compelling characters. UK voice actor Gary Furlong outdoes himself on the audiobook (the whole series is currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue)!

Definitely my favourite book series ever

Just such an amazing book to end such a captivating series. All the characters feel so real and the line between being good or bad makes every decision they make so real. Great to see unstereotyped queer representation continue through the series as well. Also a gutwrenching book though so don't expect to be able to do anything else after finishing this book. So well written too, the descriptors are so creative but so vivid. Already relistening to it so it's a very easy 5 stars.

eh

I personally didn't like it. I thought the first book was fine which for a book in the audible plus category, is pretty good. But this final book and most of the last book I just didn't understand the protag and his love interest at all. Their motivations didn't make sense, they kept flip flopping on their morals and ideals and they were just giant hypocrites. I feel like Danny is the most boring character in the series which is a bit of a shame. I felt obligated to finish it and I almost did, I'm about an hour away from the end but it's just not worth it. It feels like work to listen to it.
