About this listen
Number one New York Times best-selling author Stephen King's beloved novella, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption - the basis for the Best Picture Academy Award-nominee The Shawshank Redemption - about an unjustly imprisoned convict who seeks a strangely satisfying revenge.
A mesmerising tale of unjust imprisonment and offbeat escape, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption is one of Stephen King's most beloved and iconic stories and it helped make Castle Rock a place listeners would return to over and over again. Suspenseful, mysterious and heart-wrenching, this iconic King novella, populated by a cast of unforgettable characters, is about a fiercely compelling convict named Andy Dufresne who is seeking his ultimate revenge.
Originally published in 1982 in the collection Different Seasons (alongside 'The Body', 'Apt Pupil' and 'The Breathing Method), it was made into the film The Shawshank Redemption in 1994. Starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins, this modern classic was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, is one of the most beloved films of all time and is IMDb's top-rated movie of all time.

JUST AS GOOD AS THE CULT MOVIE (Maybe even better)
THIS IS MY FIRST EVER LISTENING TO AN AUDIOBOOK I believe it's a good choice.
Steven Kings classic story that Inspired a cult movie, that has become the number one movie of all time.
This short story gives so much more info to what we see in the movie and its little details that I wish was used in the movie but I understand the time frame and trying to fit everything is not always easy.
I was very interested to know some characters in this story were in fact blended into one character in the movie and the death of Tommy never happened was a major shock to me. I also love how a lot of the words from this story were used straight into the movie word by word CLASSIC.
Frank Muller does a great job narrating the story playing RED, he reminds me a lot of Morgan Freeman and I believe is perfect for the reading of this book, I can't wait to hear more of his audiobooks.
I really loved this audiobook/story I am very happy I brought this book and I can't wait to listen to more.

Movie was better but S King is still the master
Movie adaption I found more enjoyable. Red being played by Morgan freeman just shone so much more brightly than the red in the book.
You’ll note word for word when you watch the movie and the movie has better outcomes for the baddies.
Stephen king is the master! He wrote the book which made the movie so it’s all him.
This was heart warming and did not have any standard SK creepiness that he also masters.
I’d recommend this audible book so you can compare to the movie and relive the compelling story.

A Yarn Spun Well
I love both the book and movie adaptation. Yet, I enjoy this narrative more because it’s more one on one, as if you’re sitting and listening to a yarn told just to you, rather than an audience. Very well done.

Great story very well read
This is one of the rare examples where the movie is better than the book, if you live the movie it is well worthwhile reading the book.

Shawshank
It was a great Audible. Loved it, my opinion, just as good as the movie. Maybe better.
