Love this series. Funny, action and great characters

This book had me at hello.
The audiobook (nick podehl) has the characters just right. (Specially muma). Quick humour, better fights and a gamers wet dream.
If you're into military scifi, fantasy and gaming, you will fall in love with this series and read it over and over.
Warning... you will buy the next books in the series and eagerly await the latest release, so allow time to immerse yourself in this ripper universe!

Great listen but a few annoyances

I really love this whole series. Just like RPGs that I’ve played, the character/village progression mechanics suck me in and I want to see what can be achieved next. However, the progression updates do get a bit tedious, especially when there are multiple of the same type. I really like the story and the world that Kong has created, with the various races, factions, monsters and worlds. The writing is fairly simple and easy to listen to, but sometimes lacks nuance. Nick Podehl’s narration is masterful, demonstrating an amazing range of voices, but the way he pronounces the word ‘herb’ as ‘errrb’ really irritates me. Please stop saying it that way Nick. Despite the few negative points, it’s a really addictive, enjoyable series and I can’t wait for book 9.

Superb !

I was originally going buy the sequel until I learned of this series. I almost skipped because of the sample audio, but the book is actually interesting, and the voice acting is very compelling. Glad I didn't turn it down.

I finished the last book and need more

im on my second listen to the series. but man this series rocks. so fun. Can't wait for more. the first book sets a group time and it just gets addictive from there.

Pretty good. This is my kind of story.

I wish there were more unique stories like this. Low romance, high fantasy with mages and realistic sprites set with a background of RPG-like statistics. Fantasy fiction that doesn't need large breasts and romance to make sense is a book for me. Kinda like a real-life RPG game. And plus, no feminism or other such unnecessary things included thankfully

This was my first experience with the litRPG genre. And oh dam Im so hooked.
Loved this book, after reading I immediately brought the rest of the series!
The narrator is really clear and helps make the story come to life!

A dungeon delving masterpiece.

Aleron Kong puts depth into this book that provides a diverse experience of entertainment.
It is rare to a find series that holds up the momentum over several books and keep the reader wanting to know more about the characters.
Reading the land is like questing into any dungeon, the deeper you go the greater the reward.

Also, as voice acting goes, Nick Podehl provides an immersive experience.
The range of voices and emotion he can exhibit through audio alone is incredible and helps the listener to let go of reality and step foot onto The Land.
