About this listen
Combine an offbeat cast of characters with Murakami's idiosyncratic prose, and the result is the remarkable story Dance Dance Dance: high-class call girls billed to MasterCard, a psychic 13-year-old dropout has a passion for talking heads, and meet a hunky matinee idol doomed to play dentists and teachers.
Don’t forget the one-armed beach-combing poet, an uptight hotel clerk and one very bemused narrator caught in the web of advanced capitalist mayhem.

Surreal and engaging
It's my first Murakami book and I've left it keen to read more. The unique narrative form brought me to another realm of strange twists, darkness, and entertainment.

weird but compelling.
Hypnotic, compelling, Murakami has the ability to transport you to an alternate world, where the surreal becomes plausible. Well read. I would definitely recommend

Perfectly, quirky Murakami
I mean, the man is a genius, right? And the narrator was absolutely brilliant. Loved it.

Murakami magic
i am a Murakami fan but of course, some are better than others and this one is great. Murakami is witty, insightful, imaginative and well, different. he really likes to play with reality, stetching and challenging The narration is wonderful, superb voices for the different characters. Great ending. Finished it in 2 days, couldn't stop listening.

Fantastically narrated
Murakami doesn't disappoint.
A great story is something you come to expect, but this book has a wonderful rhythm. It's also fascinating to be invited to ponder on the philosophy guiding the main characters.
However what also made this book stand out was the narrator. Rupert Degas has a great voice, and his passion makes the work come alive. He builds on the poetry of the work, changing pace and style, inviting a really close relationship with the characters in the book.

An interesting and compelling story. Excellent character development that kept you engaged. Offbeat enough to give it a bit of wonder and quirk.

Odd, brilliant in places but bizarre!
I can't figure out how I feel about this one! I've read/listened to two Murakami's book before and liked them - accepting their oddities and what his overall ambition of the book was, but this one still puzzles me.
