About this listen
Fear of tackling an issue with your boss, fear of getting to grips with a problem in your home. Fear of change. Fear of taking control...
Everyone has their own list of fears which seem to run through their lives. Susan Jeffers' inspiring and mould breaking book shows us how to become powerful in the face of our fears. Feel the fear, she argues, but do it anyway.

The de-conditioning and acceptance around fear
A very vulnerable and open book about how we can sometimes have unrealistic ideas around fear and failure. Jeffers goes into her childhood and talks about growing up and wanting the fear to go away before taking any chances. In reality fear never leaves. She reflects that at some level she knows there is nothing to fear, and it’s the ’surface level that needs some convincing’.
This was a great book that focused on creating a dialogue about fear, but I found it to be a bit pessimistic. It did give practical reframing tools to deep dive into self-talk and decondition some flaws around blind positive thinking, but in all it didn’t spark within me a sense of curiosity or eagerness to dive deeper into my personal relationship of fear. It was a bit too text book for me. I needed more feeling and connection to come through the pages.
I did however really love the points she makes, and I created a bit of a deconditioning question list from this book, so when I find myself in certain situations which trigger a wound or shadow, then I can ask myself these questions to either transcend or transmute the feeling of fear. This allows it to be acknowledged and expressed, then directed towards something of positive value.

Great content I will listen to it several times but it's a shame because I found the authors voice really annoying.
