Publisher's Summary

Fate of the Fallen is the start of a brand-new adventure from New York Times best-selling author Kel Kade.

Not all stories have happy endings.

Everyone loves Mathias. Naturally, when he discovers it’s his destiny to save the world, he dives in headfirst, pulling his best friend, Aaslo, along for the ride.

However, saving the world isn’t as easy, or exciting, as it sounds in the stories. The going gets rough, and folks start to believe their best chance for survival is to surrender to the forces of evil, which isn’t how the prophecy goes. At all. As the list of allies grows thin and the friends find themselves staring death in the face, they must decide how to become the heroes they were destined to be or, failing that, how to survive.

Great narration, great story and I can’t wait for more Aaslo in the next story.

among the best

This story was one of the best I've listened to and I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks. This story is full of really interesting characters, an exciting and completely unpredictable story and matched with a fantastic narrator that fleshes out all the characters, offering them very individual choices and tones. I even laughed a lot and was thoroughly entertained. I highly recommend this book.

Fun Adventure Fantasy

Plot was a bit light and silly at times, but the world and characters are interesting and entertaining - particularly the POV of the Gods and reaper (dead human that serves the Gods). The narration is absolutely amazing.

Where’s those typical scenes?

Audiobooks are exciting, the different amount of emotions you go thru, to feed your curiosity of the journey. When I started listening to this audiobook, I wanted this book to be part of another series, but after 10mins, I was hooked, another series to enjoy. I must confess, Kel Kade has my full attention, not once so far, thru five audiobooks, have I heard a typical scenario...and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Thanks Nick... doing a great job!!

Creative and light hearted

This book had me on the edge of my seat. It didn't follow a typical hero story line, and took a unique perspective. I like that the new world you are introduced to was easy to follow and visualise

The sequel will be better

The book is solid, as usual from Kel Kade. Stands out from the trash that can be found in the audible fantasy section. Unique concepts and a lot of nicely executed twists on classic formulas.

The real issue with this book is that it takes way too long to get going. I really struggled to get through the first half. Things really started to pick up in the final third and the ending was very strong. The sequel is going to be very good if she can pull it off.

The characters are likeable and quirky in the right ways and the main character is just the right kind of guy. The gods were especially interesting throughout the story and added a good amount of flavour in between the main storyline. A stroke of genius really and the story would not be the any good without them.

All in all, it’s classic Kel Kade. Very comfortable read and easy to digest. I recommend it but be prepared for a slow start.
