Poul-Henrik Trampe, 1944-1982, var oprindeligt journalist og debuterede i 1970 som forfatter. Stærkt inspireret af Sjöwall og Wahlöö skrev han en række kriminalromaner med politimanden Kurt Jørgensen som bærende figur. Trampe blev en uhyre produktiv forfatter og skrev ud over sine krimier og journalistik også revytekster, børne- og ungebøger og musiktekster. Også radio-/tv-spil mestrede han og var blandt andet ophavsmand til de populære, humoristiske film om Familien Gyldenkål. En årrække arbejdede han desuden med en række psykologisk funderede romaner om parforhold. Personligt kæmpede han med en bipolar lidelse, og i 1982 forsvandt han sporløst under en tur med Oslobåden. Hans lig drev senere i land i Kristiansand i Norge.
