Emotionally driven
I never thought much about the addictions to drugs but this story provided the emotion of the character that makes the reader have empathy
I enjoyed the story and the narrators were excellent

Just fantastic all round.
One of my favourite thriller novels so far and I’ve been through a lot. I also just love Kathleen Earlys narration. She is a great story teller. This whole story was so well put together. It had me gripped from start to finish and the way it pulls you into the hearts of the characters is heartbreaking. I cried in several parts of this, especially toward the end and really didn’t want to let go of the story although I definitely felt that all the right kind of closure was given in the end. Moving straight onto another Karin Slaughter book confident that it will be just as good. Her writing is brilliant!

The reality of this novel made me laugh and cry
KS has produced another great book here. I loved the way she captured our current COVID world and wove a story that could have been read during the Spainish Influenza or AIDS crisis. I can't decide which character I was most emotionally drawn to. Maybe all. I was almost glad when it ended. I was exhausted but a day later I want to go back to the beginning.

I enjoyed the analysis of the characters and the research required to present such a story.
At times I felt it was a little drawn out but that is more a reflection of me wanting to move on and discover the villains

Fantastic
I have never read a book in my lifetime and I’m 53,
This book kept me entertained from start to finish.
Never thought I would cry listening to a book.

could not stop listening
Absolutely loved it! Although the topic was such a heart ranching one really! Loved the 2 main characters & could see both of their perspectives all through great writing. And it's so on point how girls/women from that era (my era) we're expected to handle male attention. Thankfully for most of us to a tiny percent of what the characters went through. Very well done!
