About this listen
Rowan
Five years ago, I ruined the best thing I had in my life and ran. Now, I'm finally back to make things right. I need Circus's forgiveness, and then I can finally move on. I'll leave Sunbury for good this time and never look back. Maybe then I can finally live life as an out gay man - without my family ever finding out. But earning his forgiveness isn't as simple as I hoped it would be. He's going to make me fight for it. And I don't blame him at all.
Circus
I never wanted or expected to see Rowan Harvey again. When he shows up in Sunbury, begging for forgiveness, I'm tempted to give it to him just so he'll disappear. Instead, we make a deal. I need an extra model for a swimwear shoot, and none of my friends are available or fit the brief. I'll forgive him, if he helps me. Then he has to leave. For good. Because his request for anonymity during the shoot proves he's still living in his dark closet. I'm not going to make the same mistakes I did when I was a teenager. I won't let myself fall for him again. Because after how things ended between us, he doesn't deserve a second chance.
Contains mature themes.

This all worked!
Arriving back in the small town of Sunbury, extremely closeted Rowan Harvey has bridges to mend with his high school crush, Kelly Atkins (aka Circus), whom he physically and emotionally hurt fives years ago. Circus’s online influencer profile is high, but he’s being pressured to feature a fake partner to increase the numbers. Rowan has the looks, needs the money, and wants to make it up to Circus, but he’s super worried that his homophobic, religious family will find out. This all worked! I loved the rich storylines in this plot, I thought Rowan’s journey of self-acceptance was well done, and I liked the two MCs a lot. The plot was a lot less predictable than the first book and that was great. Kirt Graves (as Circus) and Alexander Cendese (as Rowan) narrated the audio like the champions they are.

I found some parts of it personally relatable.
This is the second book in this series I have finished today... and, I think it's because I find so much of what the characters go through relatable to my own experiences in growing up, struggling with identity, and finding the confidence to be myself, that has caused this series to have me so hooked. The hot parts don't hurt either, but I found myself almost crying at one point during this book, and that's not the kind of thing a simple erotic book would do. There's more here than just word porn, and I will be recommending this series to all my friends in the scene. Highly recommend, for anyone who wants to better understand the struggles of someone who's in the LGBT...P+ scene (but as said. there is some word porn also. so, you've been warned :3 ). And, to the author, and narrators; thank you. <3

Loved Circus and Rowan
Great performances. Lovable characters. It felt a little flat/cardboard/buzzword at times, particularly around Rowans journey with his family, but the story was good, I loved the characters, and there were some great scenes. I really loved the journey these two go on to repair their poor little hearts and their friendship turned relationship. Over all a good read
