Publisher's Summary

When a mission ends in disaster—there is no way to achieve the objective, no way to regroup and try again, no plan B, no hope—all you can do is fall back into FAILURE MODE and try to salvage whatever you can.

...if it is even possible to save anything, or anyone.

The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight.

Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

Wow its over?!

I didn't realise this was the last book in the expeditionary force saga, I feel bitter sweet. There was a point there around book 11-12 where it felt like the same tropes were being used over and over to fill out some of the story but I think it ended well. Not the ending I was expecting by any means, but I think it makes sense.

The end or just the beginning of the MOP.

I was looking forward to another book and dreading it as it was the end of the series. I was worried that Craig would not do the series justice at the end. That the book would be a disappointment. I should have know to TRUST THE AWESOMENESS! Skippy would not have let that happen. Craig and Bob have created a masterpiece of a series. Now if you will excuse me I need to cry over my Fluffernutter.

They did it again, or one last time

it has been a long storyline, but with an epic performance the energy keeps going, outstanding
